Crashlands 2 Feedbag

Using a keyboard and mouse for controls is giving some issues. Mainly the WASD are… buggy? Seems to only accept 2 directional inputs only. After that you can not use another direction input while still holding another key. Have to completely release all keys than press direction key again.

Additional Information

I don't know that we fully support KBM on mobile as the way the inputs are handled by GameMaker can get kind of strange...

On Windows/Steam using KBM I don't see this issue that you're reporting. I'll pass this on to the team to see if we've got anyone with a wireless keyboard and mouse to see if they can confirm anything though!

Talked with our platform specialist and they confirmed that while we do not OFFICIALLY support KBM input on mobile devices like that, we will be submitting a bug report to GameMaker Studio to see if they can get any sort of fix into the works in the engine.

Should they find a solution and put out a viable runtime (or if we can surgically insert their fix into the runtime we're using) there may be a chance this gets resolved.

Thank you. Yeah it seems to just be any bluetooth or iPad keyboard while playing on an iPad, I do not own the game on Android to try it there to see if it has the same issues. It does instant notice I am using a keyboard and mouse in iPadOS though. The hot bar becomes a 1-= bar, and the moose left and right clicks work as you would expect on a PC.

I was stuck without my xBox controller over the weekend and I was just trying to use anything other than the Touch Screen Controls, hah.

Thank you again for checking into it.

You're welcome! I'm not sure when/if this thread will get auto-archived from not using it, but I'm sure if we ever get the fix from GameMaker, it'll be in the patchnotes!
