Cannot place the wurgle egg. Had no issues so far with nests but I can’t place the wurgle egg even after trying many times. Restarting the game or moving locations makes no difference. New built nests are not interactable but old ones are working fine. Placing via build or holding the egg near the nest doesn’t do anything.

That's a nest for Maarla's Mantle pets, you'll need a Warm Nest. If you craft one of those, you can hatch creatures from the Husk
