Dear developers,
Thank you for reading this feedback. I'm writing to provide the problem I encountered in Crashlands 2, version 1.3.8-rc.
Specifically, when I was collecting the defective FL1T by defeating the FL1T and BL1T, the "defective FL1T" egg, which is a drop item, was accidentally dropped in the way that the item was embedded in the pink BS wall, and thus the item could not be collected (since special dropped item (like pet eggs) collection requires player to react with the item using mouse pointers, but in this case since the item was falled inside the wall of an environmental building, it is impossible for players to collect the item). I encounter this problem in the "Frost Field" section in The Aquadunes. I have also attached the pdf document which includes specific screenshots for the exact location where I encounter this problem.
The reason why this problem should be prevented from happening is because, majority of the items that requires manually clicking with mouse pointer are quests items, and in many situations this could prevent the players from continuing the game, and in the worst scenario, the main storyline. This problem hinders the player from experiencing a complete Crashlands 2 gaming experience, which is why I believe this problem is crucial and is worth investigating further. There're also some video feedbacks on Bilibili (a Chinese video website, similar to youtube) that are provided by players encountering similar type of problems, for example some people could not collect the wrench (used for construction, the default keyboard shortcut is B) because it falls in the back of the wall of an environmental building (thus the wall cannot be removed because the wall is initially not placed by the player, though you'll never be able to open the construction mode without the wrench), and thus cannot continue with the rest of the game. Here's the link to the video in case your're interested in learning more: https://b23.tv/yFTtuMO
The additional example I provided regarding the wrench happens at the beginning of the game, so it probably does not require too much effort to restart a new save, but this will create tremendous problem if the player encounters this in the middle of the game, for example in The Husk or even in The Aquadunes. I hope this eloaboration is clear and sufficient to justify why I believe such problem should be prevented from happenning in future updates.
I believe that reconstructing this error could be hard, but you may follow the following details to try to replicate this scene: go to the exact location shown in the pdf document and try to defeat some FL1T (after there're available loot drops for these robots, and most importantly, the player has not encounter the item "defective FL1T", i.e., there's neither such dropped item appear on the screen nor has the player picked up such item before). In some cases where the "defective FL1T" item drops and is embedded in the wall of the BS building, you'll see that it's impossible for player to click on the item with mouse pointer.
Thanks again for your time, consideration, and patience for reading this detailed comment. I'm a Chinese player and is currently providing this feedback with the English language option in the game, so there could be some syntax error or implication/information that is not clearly explained and conveyed, and sorry for all the possible inconvenience this may cause. I'm also a player who had played the Crashlands early in my childhood, and I would like to express my appreciation to the team for creating such amazing game, and I genuinely hope that the team could continue to success and contribute to more meaningful content in the future. This may or may not be my last time communicate with the developers through this type of content, but thanks again for reading through all these notes. Hope you have a great day ahead!
Best regards, AayipNewykram (dilapidate3 from steam)
Additional Information
P.S.: Here’s the diagnostic information in the clipboard, but unfortunately this is collected some time after I encountered this problem so I’m not sure if it’s useful:
Looking at your save file, I don't see the FL1T egg anywhere on your map, and the video example you gave for getting the Space Wrench has been patched already so far as I know. That video was from the day after the launch of the game, and we've put out quite a few patches since then.
