My game crashes a lot, seeming at the most random times. I have the Steam version. I also have attached the image of the error I get.

Additional Information
Can we get some more information about your system and how you're running the game? We've not gotten a similar report anytime recently.
Are you running this on Windows or emulating Windows to get Steam to run properly? All your drivers up to date? Any interference from antivirus or anything similar?
We haven't updated the game in a while, so if you're getting crashes we want to make sure we know of any changes you've made to your system recently, as well as if you've ALWAYS had this issue or if it's just recently started happening (which could be an issue with a windows update or something).
I first launched the game around June last year and played for a while without any issues. I restarted last week and began encountering this issue a few hours in. My system specs are: Intel Core i5 9300H Nvidia GTX 1650 16GB RAM I'm running this on Windows 11 23H2 normally, no emulators or such. The drivers are up to date and antivirus shouldn't really affect here since I excluded the installation folder. I think the issue might be from the cloud update and sync process?
Sweet. I think that might be enough info to get this passed on to the right guy! I'm sending it to him know and he'll respond when he's able!
Thanks for the information! You are correct that the crash is related to cloud sync process. Specifically, it seems that when it tries to sync your achievement data to Rumpus, it is encountering an issue. Can you please zip the Crashlands data folder at
C:\Users\your_name\AppData\Local\Crashlandsand upload it here for us to inspect? Here you go.
Thank you. There doesn't seem to be anything abnormal with the data files. The error message suggests that the game could not parse the data it received back from our server. Given that no other players are experiencing this issue now, I could only guess some other possible causes:
One way or another, if you play the game while you are logged out of Rumpus or while being offline, the crash should stop. Please give that a try and let me know if that is the case.
I was considering to go offline actually. Is there a way to convert the cloud save into a local one? I would still like Steam to track my playtime.
Thank you for the help thus far.
If you log out of Rumpus or switch to a guest profile and then go to the saves menu, you should have an option to copy the cloud save as a local save to the guest profile. You want to do this mainly because if you are signed in to Rumpus, the game will continue to communicate with our server to update your achievement progress, which could result in the crash. If you are logged out of Rumpus, it won't update your achievement to our server, but it will continue to do so for the Steam achievement.
