Crashlands Feedbag

Hey, The crashlands app is marked as not compatible with my ayn odin 2 portal device and can't be downloaded from the playstore. I attached the message i'm getting (sorry it's in french but it basically says this app is only available for my other devices) I also opened a ticket with google and they said it's not their fault and it's an error from the developper's manifest file or installation script Here is their response (translated from french again) : "Thank you for contacting Google Support. My name is Kristy, and I will be assisting you with your issue today. I hope you are doing well.

We understand that your concern is related to downloading applications and receiving an error message stating “incompatible.” We are happy to assist you with your concern.

Please contact the app developer directly.

To find the contact details on Google Play:

Open the Google Play Store app.

Select or search for the desired app.

Tap the app to open the details page.

Tap App support.

Scroll down to access the support website and contact information.

Google acts as a distributor (“storefront”), while the app developer is the creator (“manufacturer”).

When you see this message, it generally means that the issue does not come from the Play Store itself, but from specific rules or technical requirements that the developer has set for their particular application.

Why the developer is responsible

The app owner has full control over the following “bottlenecks,” which Google cannot change for you:

Device compatibility: Developers specify required hardware features (such as a specific type of camera, GPS, or NFC) or Android versions. If your phone does not meet these requirements, it is up to the developer to decide whether to lower these requirements to support your device.

Geographical restrictions: Developers choose the countries in which their app can be downloaded due to licensing, legal, or business reasons. Google cannot override these “geofences.”

Account requirements: Some apps require specific account types (for example, age-restricted or enterprise-managed accounts) or are only available to “Beta” testers.

App-specific bugs: If the error occurs only with one specific app, it usually indicates a bug in that app’s installation script or manifest file, which only the developer can fix by uploading a new version."

Hope you can fix that on your end Thanks !!

Hello! I am not super familiar with the AYN handheld devices, but it does look super cool. Unfortunately, it seems AYN did not get officially certified by Google Play for their products, so Google Play does not allow us the developers to provide the app to AYN devices. See this answer for reference: https://community.infiniteflight.com/t/ayn-odin-2-dedicated-gaming-handheld-device-not-supported/870747

Unless AYN is able to gain official support from Google Play to certify their devices, my understanding is that you will not be able to download many apps from Google Play.
