Did y'all discuss 3rd party networking solutions like Photon when you were exploring multiplayer? What are the trade-offs between in-house vs external lobby servers and such?

Listener Questions
challosis @fuwqnd asked Gooigi @bt0g6h asked What was your favorite game to work on?
Starwip Cobblebeep @37nbnd asked Is there a game concept that interests you that could not be done in GameMaker? Do you ever see the studio's needs outgrowing its capabilities?
Getdang Bukkaboot @fvmid5 asked You're coming up on episode 300. 300 is a perfect game of bowling. In your opinion, are there any "perfect games" in the video game world? Not to blow smoke, but I can't think of a single thing to complain about when it comes to Crashlands. Loved every minute of it and can't wait for the sequel.
Panit Powaacka @70qj3s asked Telltale games shut down a while ago, Kentucky Route Zero wrapped up last year, and while Final Fantasy 7's remake is finally going ahead, besides that there are so few episodic games nowadays, but why? As someone who finds the format fascinating I'm curious, what do you three think of it? Is it a viable format both artistically and commercially, especially for Indies?
Mr Maladroit @jf5bgw asked In one of your recent episodes you mentioned something to the effect of without featuring you'll be lucky to have a dozen eyeballs see your app or game. With all this talk of Tiktok's machine learning algorithm, do you think something similar could fix that problem? What about Snapchat's new progressive featuring? All new videos get seen by at least 100 people and depending on engagement, they move up to more people. Love the podcast and can't wait for Crashlands 2!
RoninGameDev @22kd9c asked Could you please ask yourselves a question that you think I would ask?
Gooigi @bt0g6h asked Do you know what your next game after crashlands 2 will be?
Bonanark Funkoyard @7kwvg7 asked Hey dudes, when it comes to your shiny new animation pipeline, are you guys animating in Clip Studio Paint and exporting each frame? Or are you guys using gms2's new sequence editor?! Or some something completely different?!!!
Love you guys! P.S. how cool is clip studio paint! So cool right.
Tappytrip Doovark @kxpj6x asked I've worked in 3D animation, film making, and games as both an artist and coder. Lately I've been working as a programmer for a company and trying to get the motivation to work on my own side project. It could be purely for fun or perhaps for profit. But I've been struggling with what I can only describe as creative block, a kind of apathy towards any new ideas that come up. I can't tell if I'm being too picky with my ideas or just uninspired in general. Any advice on how to reignite that creative spark?
Mopait Flatunk @mh20wk asked Playtech sells YoYo Games to Opera... thoughts?
challosis @fuwqnd asked What does your QA process look like? You have internal staff QA. Do they test constantly? Do they only test when a new build comes out? What do they do when there is no new build to test, if that ever happens? How much of your web testing and how much of your gameplay testing is done by robots? What in-game tools and cheats do the QA warriors have to speed up their work? Thank you for the insight!
maximilio @6g8xgw asked Do you ever play Levelhead (or any other of your games, but I imagine Levelhead would be the main one) yourselves recreationally? I ask because one of the cool things about endless content games is the developers can play them.
Fraser_ @rl8tgt asked What are your plans with CL2 and early access?
RoninGameDev @22kd9c asked Sam, would you mind sharing what brushes you mainly use for Clip Studio Paint?
one dead saint @sgivos asked what piece of entertainment (movies, shows, books, games, boardgames) do you go back to because it was just that good?
Hakuzo @qcths7 asked In light of the crypto boom thanks to Elon Musk, have you guys considered making a Bsotch coin\Juice crypto?
Ticklesaurus Rex @4c63b8 asked Have you noticed an increase in productivity/mental bandwidth since managing the effects of ADHD?
Ticklesaurus Rex @4c63b8 asked Hello ButterBros,
How would a bro automate a bro-cess (process) ? How do you know where to start if you want to automate a certain aspect of a system or workflow?
Thanks bros,
P. S Adam I just started a PhD in genetics, wish me luck
Getdang Bukkaboot @fvmid5 asked So I started messing around with Click Up. First off, it's great! Thanks for the recommendation. The only problem is the one day a week I got back was Sunday! I already had that day off! What day did you guys get in your Click Up loot crates?
JustSomeDude @itifvb asked Slammin’ or Jammin’? Also what is the meaning of life?
Henry Jooste @2z0h13 asked Why did you decide to use GameMaker Studio instead of other engines like Unity or Unreal? I'm curios to know which features made you pick GameMaker that might be lacking in Unity/Unreal (or just not as good as the GameMaker implementation)
Retro Banana Man NL @kdkswt asked You guys are a bunch of creative introverts. That got me thinking, what is your myers-briggs personality type? I'm curious to hear how you differ from each other :)
Ockpop Haphop @fj38xg asked Do your new streaming screens setup for more gamejam-like work days, do you feel self-conscious when you goof off? Do you notice when the other person is taking a break? Do you acknowledge that you noticed ("hey Seth, want to goof together?")?
jamiedotgames @dlsssp asked This tweet made me think about all your dev ops investments during LevelHeads development verse Crashlands: https://twitter.com/johncutlefish/status/1360354543398129665?s=21
